Today saw Matt supporting good friend Jason Lloyd Beavis at his new open mic at The Paddocks in Blandford. This takes place once a month between 2 and 6pm on a Sunday. The locals of Ringwood were suitably wowed today as Matt arrived on a float in the procession dressed as his alter ego ‘Smelton John’. He then entertained a private birthday party that evening, luckily they were all dressed up as well. A good time was had by all.

On Wednesday the 29th August we organised an event to promote a single written for our very good friend Samantha who is currently Miss Poole and a finalist for Miss England. She wanted a song that inspired others and Si Genaro delivered with the fantastic ‘Follow Your Dreams’, recorded and produced at Hangover Hill. Monday saw another brilliant night at Matt’s Madding Crowd showcase. The amount of talented musicians in the Bournemouth area is amazing. The night ended with a jam of ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ featuring Barefoot Soul, Si Genaro, Molly Poole, Russell Starmore, Cerys Anderson and Rosie. On the Wednesday 8th August we were lucky enough to attend the Boardmasters surfing competition at Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay in Cornwall. The reason for our visit? Rujeiro Calo who has been recording at Hangover Hill with Matt for the last few years was opening the main festival with an acoustic beach vibes reggae set. Thursday saw him open the beach day sessions to a packed audience. We are very proud of him and roll on next year!

This Saturday 800 people supported the amazing ‘Bournemouth Rocks’ charity event, where Matt teamed up with the amazing Steve Gonzales to do a little bit of dueling pianos. These two don’t get the chance to work together very often due to their busy schedules, but boy do we know it when they do!

Monday 16th July saw a relaunch of ‘An Evening With’ at the brand spanking new venue The Madding Crowd in Bournemouth town centre. This one was hosted by Matt as he introduced some of Bournemouth’s amazing musical talent: Dan Desmond, Sarah Harris and Tim, Mike Dowdall and Basement Duo. Featured in the photos above are Rujeiro Calo who was joined on his Bob Marley number by Si Genaro and Cerys Anderson and Rosie who performed a stunning original song which Matt will soon be recording. Sunday 15th July saw another successful charity event in New Milton run by the lovely Sue Darcy. Sue and her team have worked hard to put on a great event and raise money for Cancer Research UK. This year they raised nearly £1800 and there was also a surprise guest to accompany Matt and Sue in a rendition of ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’. Good old Mr Blobby….he was slightly clumsy!

This weekend Matt finished off an exceptional Teddy Rock’s line up on the acoustic stage run by Matt Griffiths. Hats off to everyone involved, artists and performers this was a stunning weekend of rock raising money for Children’s Cancer.

Tonight was the launch of 27 Days’ debut album ‘Live Fast, Die Young’ at Mr Kyps in Poole. With support from Matt and Wave Chase it was a corker of a night. They even gave Matt a glam makeover specially for the occasion!

Matt interviews Stuart Epps at the 7th CMI Music Conference. Stuart has worked with Elton John, Oasis and Robbie Williams and many other artists during his career. Other guests today were from companies covering artist development, songwriters, music law and unsigned artists. Tickets were sold out and if you didn’t make it this year I highly recommend you do next year.
